OB/GYN Health Equity Working Group

In January 2019, the Penn Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Health Equity Working Group was established to address disparities in health and healthcare within the department. The workgroup includes faculty, residents, nursing and administrative staff, and medical student members across three hospitals (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) and 6 academic divisions: the Ob/Gyn Generalist Division, Family Planning, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and Neonatology. Our working group members serve as the leaders within the department for education on health equity, identifying areas of quality improvement and intervention that will improve public health in our community and serve as a model for academic centers across the nation.
